EXPLOSION

An explosion is a physical reaction that releases large amounts of energy in the form of temperature, pressure and kinetic energy. The cause of an explosion, the concentrated high amount of energy, can be a chemical reaction (e.g. due to an explosive atmosphere or explosives). This leads to a major increase in temperature and pressure within a short time.
