ERDF funding for i.safe MOBILE GmbH

As part of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) in Baden-Württemberg 2021-2027, i.safe MOBILE has been awarded full funding for the new construction of the production and logistics area, as well as an office building and the expansion of the existing building at the headquarters in i_Park Tauberfranken, Lauda-Königshofen. The company will receive a grant of 200,000 euros from ERDF funds towards the total construction costs of 5.3 million euros, while the financial support from the state will also amount to 200,000 euros. The ERDF fund is subsidised by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Food, Rural Areas and Consumer Protection and is co-financed by the European Union (European Regional Development Fund).
As a globally active company firmly rooted in the Tauberfranken region, the global market leader i.safe MOBILE has been able to steadily expand its business volume and multiply its workforce to around 80 employees since it was founded in 2011. As the company has now reached the limits of its spatial capacity, planning an expansion was inevitable. The expansion of the portfolio and the development of new markets will also create further jobs for the region in the future.
In the context of the Baden-Württemberg ERDF subsidy, i.safe MOBILE will utilise the state subsidy for the two-year extension project at the company headquarters in Lauda-Königshofen and support the objectives of the subsidy: Maintaining its leading position as a global market and innovation leader, utilising raw materials in a resource-efficient and sustainable circular economy, reducing CO2 emissions and building climate resilience. The extension of the office building and the new construction of the production and logistics area will create jobs for new employees and make production and internal logistics processes more efficient.
Sustainable building: An investment in the future
In order to seal as little open and green space as possible on the company premises, i.safe MOBILE made a conscious decision in favour of continuing to use the existing building rather than building a completely new one. As part of climate protection measures, a photovoltaic system will be installed, the roof will be extensively greened and a modern sun protection concept will eliminate the use of air conditioning. When it comes to building materials, the team of architects and the client are focussing on sustainable building materials, and there are e-car and e-bike charging stations on site for employees.
Circular economy and bioeconomy in the company
